Direct TV Difficulty?

I was about to watch a little television and pressed the guide button. When I did no TV selections popped up. It is just solid blue where the selections would be. And the current programming channel window box on the top right hand corner. I can change the channel with the Channel Up and Down button. I tried turning the TV on and off. Any suggestions?
